ABET Assessment

AE 481/AE 482 Reflection

The Penn State University Architectural Engineering program has two courses for fifth-year students that focus on a specific project for an entire year. The first semester focused on the general information of the project, detailed engineering system, and the construction process. Through the analysis from the first semester. The second semester is to provide the alternative solutions to improve either the project itself or the challenging industry issues. Because we are working on on-going projects in real life, we could apply the knowledge and skills learned from classes to perform our strategies. It prepares us for the incoming life after graduation.

                                          CEPE Reflection

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a valuable experience that helps me to learn throughout the year. Not only I learned basic skills to develop a website but an effective way to display the work as it processed.

The following table is an ABET outcome assessment of the AE 481/482 courses. The outcomes reflect a personal assessment, not the course instructors.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Peng Li. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
